How to find YouTube videos in your preferred language

Video titles, subtitles and spoken audio are not always in the same language. A language filter is helpful but not perfect.

01. Decide what you mean by language

A title may be translated while the video audio is not. Decide if you need spoken language, readable subtitles or just a recognizable title.

02. Search with language-specific words

Using a local-language query may uncover different creators, although it does not guarantee all returned videos speak that language.

03. Consider multilingual discovery

Choosing two or three languages can widen your results without requiring a separate account.

04. Language filters in OYF

The extension supports multiple selected video languages. Metadata can sometimes be mislabeled, so results are not a guarantee of spoken or subtitle language.
