Information we process
The extension can send a pseudonymous client identifier, country or region, browser locale and time zone, selected video languages, categories and topics, creator-size preference, extension version, and counters such as feed requests, refreshes and recommendation resets.
Video feedback
If you use feedback controls, Outside Your Feed can record the video ID, feedback action, pseudonymous client identifier and event time. This information is used to operate and improve discovery recommendations.
Browser storage
The extension stores settings and information used to reduce repeated videos in browser-managed storage, including chrome.storage.sync where supported. This browser feature is not an Outside Your Feed account or paid cloud-sync service.
How we use extension data
We use extension data to provide the discovery feed, remember preferences, reduce repetition, operate recommendation features, diagnose service problems and improve the product. Extension-collected user data is not used for personalized or retargeted advertising.
Infrastructure and third parties
Outside Your Feed uses Cloudflare services and a Neon PostgreSQL database to operate its API and video catalog. Video metadata is obtained through YouTube services. When you choose to use YouTube, YouTube policies apply.
YouTube watch history
Outside Your Feed does not claim access to your complete YouTube watch history and cannot guarantee that every displayed video is new to you.
Retention
Outside Your Feed does not currently apply a fixed automatic deletion schedule to pseudonymous client-profile and feedback records. They may be retained while needed to operate and improve the service, subject to verified deletion requests and any records that must be retained for security, legal or transaction-related reasons. This policy will be updated if the retention practice changes.
Access and deletion requests
You may ask us to review or delete data associated with your installation. Requests are handled manually. We may ask for information from your installation or other reasonable evidence needed to verify that the request concerns your data. A bare client identifier supplied by an unrelated person is not treated as sufficient proof of ownership.
Security
Data sent between the extension and Outside Your Feed services is transmitted over HTTPS. Access to backend systems is restricted to operational use.
