How to discover new YouTube channels

Finding something new is harder when recommendations keep returning to familiar channels. Here are practical ways to broaden what you watch.

01. Start outside subscriptions

Use search with an unfamiliar subject, a different language, or a regional perspective instead of browsing only subscribed channels.

02. Change one dimension at a time

Try a new region or category while keeping a language you understand. This makes unfamiliar videos easier to explore.

03. Avoid turning one click into a new habit

If you liked one woodworking film, that does not mean you want twenty more. Mix subjects and creators intentionally.

04. Use an independent discovery feed

Outside Your Feed helps vary channels and categories, with optional length and date filters. It cannot guarantee that a video never appeared on your homepage.
